BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – After another record-setting game, Baker University senior quarterback Logan Brettell earned his seventh Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award of his career, announced on Monday.

In Saturday’s win over number 23 Peru State, Brettell went 22-of-32 for 374 yards and five touchdowns and he broke Baker’s all-time passing yards record, as he broke Mack Brown’s career mark of 8,278 yards.

The Overland Park, Kansas native has now thrown for 8,446 passing yards and a school-record 84 touchdowns.

He also completed the longest touchdown pass in school history against Peru State, when he connected with Clarence Clark on a 99-yard touchdown in the second half.

Baker defeated Peru State, 65-42, last week and moves to a perfect 6-0 and has won 23-straight games against a Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent.

Baker is off this week and resumes its 2017 schedule with its Heart South opener against rival MNU on Saturday, October 14 at 1 p.m. inside Liston Stadium in a match up that will be broadcast worldwide on the Watch ESPN App/ESPN three and locally on KSMO-TV.
