WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Number 13 BU Nails School-Record 15 Three's in Rout of Mo Valley

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – The number 13 ranked Baker University women’s basketball had five double-digit scorers and held Missouri Valley to 34-percent shooting en route to a blowout win at Missouri Valley on Tuesday evening, 91-53.

The Wildcats also made a school-record 15 three-point baskets, shooting 15-of-26 for 57.7-percent.

Baker moved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Heart play, while Missouri Valley fell to 5-2 and 2-2 in conference action.

The Wildcats’ 91 points are the most for a Baker team since they scored 100 points in its win at Midland on Dec. 18, 2014, 100-99.

The five Wildcats to score in double figures include Caitlin Modesett who led the team in points with 14, Sydney Buchel and Kelsey Larson each scored 13 and Mackenzie Cook dropped 11 and Sydnie Hanson netted 10.

Baker shot 54.4-percent from the field and held the Vikings to 3-of-16 from three-point range and 18-of-53 from the field.

Modesett was nearly perfect from three-point range, shooting 4-of-5, while Larson was perfect shooting 3-of-3, as was Jessica Zweifel who shot 2-of-2 from downtown.

BU outrebounded Mo Val, 38-20 and assisted on 20 of its 31 field goals. Buchel led the team in assists with five and Cook led the team in rebounds with three.

Baker will next take on Avila on Monday, Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
