Mateer Becomes First Baker Women’s Golfer Named to Academic All-District Team

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University senior women’s golfer Lindsey Mateer continues to collect awards, as she became the first-ever in Baker University men’s or women’s golf to be named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team.

The award is to recognize the nations top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Mateer is just one of 11 athletes named to the First-Team College Division from District 3 which comes from a pool of athletes from the States of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

All nomination criteria must be met for a nomination to be valid.

In baseball and softball, pitchers must have at least 10.0 innings pitched. Athletes who have not participated in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests are not eligible.
