MEN'S BASKETBALL: Baker Loses Overtime Thriller to CMU, 83-82

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s basketball team fought back from a 41-32 halftime deficit to force overtime, but eventually lost in a heartbreaker inside the Collins Center, 83-82.

With the win CMU moved to 13-12 overall and 7-10 in the Heart, while Baker fell to 11-13 overall and 7-10.

Four ‘Cats scored in double figures including a team-high 15 from freshman Clae Martin. The Sydney, Australia product made three, three-point field goals.

Also in double figures were Daniel Young and Javeion Gray with 12 points and 11 from Nick Wilson.

Just before the buzzer rang at the end of regulation, Gray hit a layup to force overtime, but CMU outscored the ‘Cats 11-10 in that final frame.

Baker outrebounded CMU, 31-28, and the Eagles went 7-of-10 from three-point range in the first half, but cooled off in the second shooting just, 1-of-6.

The Wildcats will next take on Culver-Stockton on the road on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.
